Profile
Kanae Mizobuchi is a vocalist and researcher working at the meeting point of contemporary music and improvisation. Born in Takamatsu, Kagawa, she graduated in voice from Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, continued at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Strasbourg, and completed her studies in contemporary vocal performance at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart.
She has performed at festivals across Europe and Japan, both as a soloist and as a member of Schola Heidelberg and PHØNIX16. She is currently a doctoral candidate at IAMAS (Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences) in Gifu, Japan, where her research centres on Meredith Monk.
