Kanae Mizobuchi is a soprano who enjoys contemporary music.
She is also active as an improviser.

As a soloist, Kanae has performed at Transmediale, Unerhörte Musik,
IMDK festival, Plage musicale en Bangor, Festival au Son, TAMA contemporary music festival,
Budapest music center with ensembles such as Ensemble Linea,
UMZE Ensemble, Reactive Ensemble, Ensemble Regards, Quatuor Adastra,
Jana Luksts, Berrand Chavarria Aldrète and has premiered pieces by Jennifer Walshe,
Alexandros Spyrou, Anastatos Savvopoulos, Pedro Fraguela,
Brandon Lincoln Snyder, Etienne Haan, Hiromi Watanabe, Masahiro Aogaki, and Teppei Higuchi.

As an ensemble singer, she is a member of Schola Heidelberg and PHØNIX16,
and has performed as a guest with Cantus Stuttgart and Deutscher Kammerchor,
with instrumental ensembles such as SWR Symphonyorchester,
Orchestra Symphony de Strasbourg, Ensemble Aisthesis, Musikfabrik.
These include performances at SWR Schwetzingen Festival, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Maerzmusik,
Heidelberger Frühling, Musik der Zeit, Musik am 13, and Musikfest Bern.

As an improviser, she has played at VEKKS and Marathon2000.

Kanae studied vocal music at Kunitachi College of Music,
Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Strasbourg with Françoise Kubler,
and Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart (MA Neue Musik Gesang) with Prof. Angelika Luz.
Additionally, she has attended Voix Nouvelle, Manifeste Academy, Darmstadt Sommerferienkurs,
SWR Vokalensemble Academy, and Snape Maltings,
studying with Donatienne-Michel Dansac, Valerie Philippin, and Juliet Fraser.

Besides making music, Kanae curates the Berlin-based interdisciplinary arts festival „fesKa“.
She is also a practicing tarot reader.
